Your Website: Chat, the Quiz, Booking and a Free Link

Updated October 31, 2026

Your own website can carry the chat, the care quiz and visit booking from one piece of code, and any plan can add a free link to our guides for families. The code lives under Settings, then Your website. The free link lives under Referral links, on the Your website tab. None of it changes how you show to families.

List your websites

The code only works on websites listed in step one, and stays hidden until you add one. Type the address and tap Add. Adding example.com also covers www.example.com. If your listing already names your website, the page offers it as one tap: "Yes, add" followed by the address. There is a limit on how many sites you can list, and Remove takes one off.

Paste the code

Tap "Copy code" and paste it just before the closing body tag on every page where the button should show. It loads on its own and never holds up the page.

Under "Step-by-step, for how your website is built" you will find guides for WordPress, where "Download the WordPress plugin" gives you a plugin with nothing to set up, for Google Tag Manager, and for a website someone else looks after.

Which pieces show on your site?

"What your website shows" has a box for each piece: the chat, the care quiz and visit booking. Tick or untick a box and Save, and your website changes on its next page load with nothing to paste again. The chat, the quiz and booking come with a paid plan; below it the boxes stay visible with a note. A family who writes, books or takes the quiz there lands in your leads, and you answer from your inbox. An agency books interviews; a community books visits.

The free family resources link

Open Referral links, then the Your website tab. You get a link to our guides for families, written for your website's footer, plus a short introduction for a few guides that suit your kind of care, each with its own link. "Copy link", "Copy HTML" and "Copy a note for your web person" put it on your clipboard; we never send anything for you. An admin can change the link's words, so your link does not read like everyone else's. It is free on every plan.

A family who follows the link reads the same guide anyone reads. If they later make an account, you are kept as one of their teams, and they show up under Families you sent once they choose to keep you posted.

Is it working?

Open your website in another tab. Once the button shows in the corner, come back and tap "Check again". Each listed site then says when the chat was last seen there, or "Not seen here yet."

Once a night we also look at each listed website's home page for the family resources link. Each site then says "Family resources link: seen" with the date, or "not seen yet." Only a link written into the page counts; a link added by a script does not. If it says not seen, check that the link was saved into your footer and published.

Turn it on or off

The Status card's "Turn everything off" hides everything the code shows on every website, and "Turn back on" brings it back. A change reaches your site within a few minutes.

Replace the code

"Replace code" gives you new code and stops everything on every page that still has the old one, so paste the new code everywhere it was. Your family resources link carries the same key, so copy it again too.

A teammate can see these pages; only an admin sets them up or changes them.
