Register a Texting Number of Your Own for a Listing
Updated October 25, 2026
Your agency can register a texting number of its own for each listing. Families a referral service sends you are then texted from it, under your name, while families who found you on Latter Years are texted from the Latter Years number either way. An admin opens Settings, then Texting number, and taps "Submit for registration".
Pick the listing
A texting number belongs to one listing. If your agency has more than one, tap the listing's name at the top of the page first. With no listing yet, the page asks you to add one.
Fill in the registration
The form asks for what US mobile carriers require: your legal business name exactly as it appears on your IRS paperwork, your EIN, the kind of business, your website and business address, an authorized contact who can sign for the business, and your expected monthly text volume. Twilio may contact that person to confirm.
Tick the opt-in statement to confirm how the families you text from this number asked you about care, for example through a referral service whose terms they accepted. Every first text names your listing, and STOP always works. The form will not submit without it.
Follow the status
The Registration status badge moves through each review: your business profile, your messaging profile, the brand and then the campaign. Each review takes days rather than minutes, the campaign review is the longest, and you have nothing to do between them. Once the number is attached, the badge reads Live and the page shows the number.
Not approved?
The badge reads "Not approved" with the reason underneath. Correct what it names and submit again. After a failed save, type the EIN again, since it is never shown back.
Does it cost anything?
No. The carrier registration and the number are included in your plan, and Latter Years pays the fees. Teammates see the status; only an admin submits the form. Texting number comes with a paid plan.
