Tag Leads, Residents and Clients, and Tidy Your Tag List
Updated October 25, 2026
Tags are your team's own labels on leads, residents and clients, picked from one saved list your whole organization shares. You add a tag in the Tags card on a lead's, resident's or client's page, and an admin tidies the list under Settings, then Tags. A tag never appears in a message to a family.
Put a tag on a lead, resident or client
In the Tags card, start typing in "Find or add a tag" and pick one from your saved list, then tap Add tag. To use a new name, choose Create tag; if it looks like one you already have, Latter Years asks "Did you mean" first, so you do not end up with near copies. Tap the × beside a tag to take it off.
Anyone who can see the lead, resident or client can tag it, and a new name joins the saved list for everyone. An automation can target a tag, so tagging a family can decide which follow-up they get.
Tidy the list
Settings, then Tags lists each tag with what uses it. An admin can tap Rename, and every lead, resident and automation with that tag follows the new name. Merge moves everyone from one tag onto another, and automations follow; a merge cannot be undone. If the list spots tags that look the same, it offers to merge them for you.
Can I delete a tag?
Tap Delete, then Delete tag. The tag comes off everyone who has it and leaves the list, and this cannot be undone. A tag an automation still uses cannot be deleted: change the automation first, or merge the tag into another.
Only an admin changes the tag list; everyone else sees a note saying so.
