Change the Wording of Your Saved Messages
Updated October 25, 2026
Saved messages hold the words your sequences and campaigns send. Open Automations, then the Saved messages tab. Latter Years gives each built-in message a default text and email, and you can change the wording to sound like your team or keep the default.
Edit a built-in message
Each built-in message has a card for its text and one for its email, with a line saying which sequences and campaigns use it. A card marked Default still has the Latter Years wording; Customized means your team changed it.
Tap Edit, change the Message (and the Subject on an email) and tap Save. The Preview shows how it reads. "Reset to default" puts the Latter Years wording back.
Insert a variable
Under "Insert a variable", tap one, such as the family's first name, to add it to the message. "If it is empty, use" picks a stand-in for when that detail is missing, or nothing, which means the message is not sent.
Write your own message
A community can also write its own under "Your own messages". Tap New message, give it a Name only your team sees, write the Message and an Email subject, and tap Create message. You can then pick it in a sequence, a campaign or a reply. Tick the promotional box for an offer or an event invitation, and the sensitive details box if it mentions anyone's health, care or finances, so it goes as a secure link.
Need a Spanish version?
Under a community's messages you can write a Spanish version and tap "Save Spanish version". It goes to families who came to you as leads and whose language is Spanish; everyone else gets the English wording.
Who can change them?
In a community, a facility admin changes the wording for every location or for one, and a location admin changes their own location's version. In an agency, only the agency's admin can change saved messages; anyone else can open a card with View. Saved messages come with a paid plan; on the free plan the page stays greyed out.
