Import a List of Families From a Spreadsheet
Updated October 25, 2026
You bring in families who already reached out to you by saving the list as a CSV file, uploading it, matching its columns and previewing the result. Nothing is added until you tap Import, and a family already on your Leads list is skipped.
Find the import
A community opens Settings, then Integrations, and taps "Import a CSV" on the CSV upload card. An agency opens Leads and taps "Import families from a spreadsheet". Only an admin imports, and importing comes with a paid plan.
Upload the file
Save the spreadsheet as CSV, with one row per family who reached out, and choose it under CSV file. Where the page asks "What are you importing?", pick Leads; the other choice brings in your current residents or clients instead. Tap Upload.
Match the columns
Latter Years suggests a field for each column, such as the family member's name, phone, email, who needs care and when they inquired. Change any that are wrong, or leave a column Not mapped. Answer "Where did these leads come from?" for every row whose own source column is empty, and pick a default location or listing if the file does not name one on each row. To reuse this mapping next time, give it a name under "Save this mapping as a preset".
Preview, then import
Tap Preview import to see the dry run summary: rows ready, rows with errors, and rows skipped because the same family appears twice in the file. Download error report lists each problem row, so you can fix it and import again. Tap the Import button to start; the page shows the progress, and your Leads list shows the families when it is done.
Will the families get a message?
A family whose inquiry date is from the last few days gets your new-lead messages. Older rows, and rows with no inquiry date, are added without a message. An import of current residents or clients also asks where that roster came from and the date you obtained it.
To post families from your own systems instead of a file, see the API keys article.
