Finish the Get Started Checklist for Your Listing

Updated October 25, 2026

Get started is the short checklist that sets up a newly claimed listing: what you offer, how families pay, your photos or logo, a check of your contact details and who hears about new families. An admin opens Get started from the menu, or taps Get started or Continue on the card on your home page, and works through it.

Where to find it

The card on your home page greets you after you claim a listing, then shows how many required steps are done and names the next one. Once only optional steps are left, it shrinks to a single line with a "See them" link. The Get started link in the menu stays there after the card is gone, so you can come back whenever you like.

Only an admin sees the card and the link. Anyone else who opens the page sees a note that an admin sets up the listing.

Work through the steps

A community sees one step per screen. Each screen says why the step matters and offers the button that does it, such as "Answer these questions" or "Choose your networks". Your listing details (phone, monthly price, availability and description) are edited right on their step and saved with "Save and continue". A summary lists every step with Start or Open beside it.

An agency sees every step on one page, grouped by listing and then "Your agency", each with its status: Done, With us for review, Skipped or To do. Tap Start or Open to go to the page where that step is done. Tap "Looks right" on "Contact and service area" once you have checked it.

Can I skip a step?

Yes. An optional step has "Skip for now", and you can come back to it later. A community's required step offers "Do this later" instead, which moves you on without marking it done. Nothing on the checklist hides your listing or holds anything up: your listing works for families the whole time.

Which steps are optional?

Inviting your team and naming the providers you recommend are optional for everyone. A community's starting numbers are optional too, and so are an agency's office hours. Photos and logos you upload show as in review until Latter Years approves them, and that counts as your part done.

Why did the card go away?

The card hides itself once every step is done, in review or skipped. Open Get started from the menu to change an answer or pick up a step you skipped.
