Send a Campaign to a Group of Families
Updated October 25, 2026
A campaign sends one message to a group of families you pick, started when you choose. Open Automations, then the Campaigns tab, and fill in "Build a campaign". It saves as a draft, and nothing goes out until you start it.
Pick who it reaches
Under "Who it reaches", choose who it goes to. A community picks its open leads or its residents' families; an agency picks the families who reached out to it, or its clients' families where that is offered. Leave the targets blank to reach everyone in that group, and each target you add narrows it.
The line under the targets says how many match right now. Anyone who has not agreed to messages, or asked not to be contacted, is left out when it sends.
Choose what it says
Under "What it says", pick the Message and how it goes under "Send by". A community sending to its leads can also choose under "For each family" to send it, draft it for review first, or just make a task. Packet ends the message with a link to one of your saved packets.
When does it stop?
Pick an option under "When it stops", such as when everyone has been reached or you stop it, after enough families reply, or on a date. Once a campaign stops, the families it had not reached yet are not sent the message.
Start it or schedule it
Tap "Save as a draft". The draft appears under "Your campaigns" with Start now, or pick a date and time under "Or start at (Mountain time)" and tap Schedule. Messages go out a few at a time and only during the day, so a count of nobody sent just after you start is expected.
Not started, or already sent?
Each card shows Draft, the time it starts, Running or Stopped. A draft or a scheduled campaign has sent nothing yet. Once it runs, the card counts the families considered and sent the message, and lists why the rest are not sent yet. Cancel calls off a scheduled one, Stop ends a running one, and Delete removes a draft or a stopped one.
If the month's text allowance runs out, a campaign that sends texts waits, and nobody is sent it twice.
Add a photo
A community sending to its residents' families can add a photo to the draft: a JPEG, PNG or WebP. It is not attached to the message. Each family gets a link of their own and sees the photo on that page.
Who can build one?
In a community, a facility admin or a location admin builds and starts campaigns; everyone else sees the list only. In an agency, only the agency's admin can open Campaigns. Campaigns come with a paid plan; on the free plan the page stays greyed out.
