Add a Family Who Called or Walked In as a Lead

Updated October 25, 2026

You add a family who reached you directly, by phone, in person or through a referral, from your Leads list. A community taps Add a lead; an agency taps Add a family. Fill in who reached out and who needs care, save, and the family's lead page opens.

Who can add one?

On a community, anyone who works at the location can add a lead, on a paid plan. On an agency, only the admin adds a family, and the listing it goes on must be on a paid plan.

Fill in the form

Under "Who reached out", give the family member's first name and a mobile phone or an email; a last name is optional. Under "Who needs care", give the first name of the person who needs care, and a last name and date of birth if you have them.

Under "The inquiry", choose the location or listing when you have more than one, then answer "Where did they come from?", such as Phone or walk-in, Professional referral or Referral site. Some choices ask for a name, like who referred them. This answer is for your own reporting. Set when they reached out, then tap Add lead or Add family.

Already on your list?

If the family is already one of your leads, or one of a community's residents, the form says so and links to the record with Open it. If this is a different inquiry, such as another loved one, tap "Add as a new lead anyway" or "Add as a new family anyway".

After you add a family

The family is now one of your leads and appears on your Leads list, marked with where they came from. Your follow-up for new leads can reach them by text and email, and a family can reply STOP or unsubscribe at any time.
